Overview

Pop-up messages in QuickBooks Desktop can interrupt background processes and interfere with automatic syncing between QuickBooks and Biller Genie.
To ensure the most reliable syncing experience, pop-up messages should be disabled under the Admin user on the computer where the Biller Genie Sync Manager is installed.


WARNING!

If pop-up messages are enabled, QuickBooks Desktop may pause or block background actions while waiting for user input. This can result in sync failures, timeouts, or incomplete data transfers.


Before You Begin

You must log in to QuickBooks Desktop as the Admin user

The changes must be applied on the same computer where the Biller Genie Sync Manager is set up


How to Disable Pop-Up Messages

Step 1

Log in to QuickBooks Desktop as the Admin user.


Step 2

Click the Edit menu at the top of the screen.


Step 3

Select Preferences from the dropdown menu.


Step 4

In the left-side menu, click General.


Step 5

Under the My Preferences tab, locate the option labeled:

Turn off pop-up messages for products and services


Step 6

Ensure the checkbox is selected.
If it is not checked, check the box and click OK to save your changes.


Confirming the Setting

Once the setting is enabled:

  • Pop-up messages for products and services will no longer appear
  • QuickBooks will be less likely to interrupt background sync activity
  • Automatic sync attempts will have a higher chance of completing successfully
