Why Biller Genie Logs You Out (Session Security)

If Biller Genie keeps logging you out, that is intentional. We sign you out automatically after a period of inactivity to protect the sensitive invoice and payment data inside your account.

Why this exists

Biller Genie stores invoice histories, customer payment methods, and processing reports. If a user walked away from a logged-in session, anyone with access to the device could see and change that data. The automatic session timeout is the standard control for that risk and is required to remain compliant with payments-industry security standards.

Can the timeout be changed or disabled?

No. The session-timeout window is set at the platform level and cannot be extended or disabled per-account or per-user. This applies to every Biller Genie account.

What if I am being logged out faster than expected?

Two common patterns to check:

  • Multiple tabs or devices: if you sign in on a new device or browser, the older session may end. Use one active session at a time.
  • Browser settings: some browser privacy modes clear session cookies between visits, which can look like "constant" logouts. Try a normal (non-private) browser window to confirm.

Recommended workflow

If you work in Biller Genie throughout the day, leave the tab focused or interact with it periodically. The session timeout resets each time you click, type, or navigate.
