Check the MagicCarpet Status in Biller Genie
Start by reviewing the latest sync activity in your Biller Genie account.
1. Log in to your Biller Genie account
2. Go to Add-Ons
3. Select QuickBooks Desktop – MagicCarpet
Review the status message on this page. If an error is displayed, continue with the steps below.
Confirm the MagicCarpet Computer Is Online
MagicCarpet runs on one computer and Windows user session. This computer is responsible for syncing data between systems. Confirm the following:
• The computer is turned on
• The Windows user is logged in
• The computer has internet access
• The session is not locked or logged out
If this computer is offline, syncing will pause.
Restart QuickBooks Desktop and MagicCarpet
Restarting both applications clears temporary issues and restores the connection.
Step 1: Close QuickBooks Desktop and MagicCarpet
1. Open Task Manager (press Ctrl + Shift + Esc)
2. Find QuickBooks Desktop and MagicCarpet
3. Click each one and select End Task
Step 2: Reopen Both Applications
1. Open QuickBooks Desktop using your desktop shortcut or by searching for it
2. Open MagicCarpet using your desktop shortcut or by searching for it
Step 3: Run a Sync and Confirm It Was Successful
1. Log in to your Biller Genie account
2. Go to Add-Ons
3. Select QuickBooks Desktop – MagicCarpet
4. Click Sync
After the sync completes:
• Stay on the same page
• Check the Last Sync Result field
Review and confirm a “Sync Ended Successfully” message.
